I don’t usually do lists here at Freethinker’s, but as we’re coming to the end of the decade, I thought it appropriate to take a look at where we’ve been. Since starting the blog in 2005 with this post: American Evangelists Report Feeling Persecuted, I’ve written 240 posts, an average of 68 per year.
Nine of the top ten are from 2007, a year when my focus was research blogging. I was reading primary literature of interest to me, anyway, and the blog was a nice outlet for discussing new work. It’s something I lost time for in the last two years, as analyzing data and writing my dissertation took precedence. I have an enormous stack of articles from that time that I wanted to read but never got to.

I’d like to get back to blogging about research. Part of my job as a postdoc is keeping up with my field, so my plan (until life/classes/kids/work gets in the way) is to post once a week about the research that drew me to science in the first place.
